Again a brief reminder to please take the TTC to the Park if you’re joining us this weekend!
A final Cherry Blossom Update before we head out for the weekend. It’s getting very close out there! Many of the Park and Nature Centre Staff have picked their dates for the blossoms to open … Jorge the Park Supervisor says Saturday … Nature Centre Staff are thinking Sunday (I think) … I’m liking Monday myself. I might be a little late with that prediction but I’m thinking the Cherry Blossoms will be at their peak by then.
One of the largest trees along this path of Cherry Trees is just loaded with buds.
There is quite the haze of pink showing down the Cherry Blossom path near the restaurant.
A few of the blossoms have started to open. It looks like this warm weather is sticking with us so things should progress pretty quickly.
The individual blossoms are so simple it’s amazing how they put on such a beautiful show.
Cherry Blossoms are not the only thing blooming here in the park. There are many flowers to check out even at this time of year.
They may not all be quite as special as the Cherry Blossoms … by they are still very pretty 🙂
The Magnolia’s have had a bit of a hard time with the cool nights we’ve had lately but they’re progressing nicely as well.
One of the most interesting is a flower that’s barely visible! But the scent is extremely strong (and out extremely early). It’s a type of boxwood and it smells like a very sweet lilac.
Enjoy your long weekend of blossom viewing and don’t forget the Nature Centre has an excellent How to plan your Cherry Blossom viewing visit post on their website.

[…] At this point the Cherry Blossoms are just starting to open. The Nature Centre thinks that this weekend should be the best time for Sakura Hanami. Check out their great Cherry Blossom Tracking pages here and see what we had to say last year at this time here. […]
