A Typical Day at Eco Camp

If you’re wondering what your young camper might be up to on any given day at camp here’s a short summary of what typically happens.  Look over the sample schedule and read the time-line below for more information.

Typical Time Line (very approximate times):

9:00 am – Campers arrive and parents sign them in (those registered for extended care arrive between 8 am and 9 am

9:15 am – Campers gather for opening circle, games and information about what’s happening for the day

9:30 – 11 am – Campers head out for morning hike to explore the Black Oak Savannah, stopping for snack and water break along the way

11 am – Noon – Reapply sunscreen (also done whenever needed)  and work on camp journals

Noon – 1 pm – Lunch and finish journal entries

1 – 1:30 pm – Continue hike down to the Children’s Garden and Children’s Teaching Kitchen

1:30 – 2:30 pm – Nature Crafts

2:30 – 3:30 pm – Sunscreen break, plant/maintain/harvest garden

3:30 – 4 pm – Games, daily wrap-up, clean-up, gather backpacks and general stuff

4 pm – Caregivers sign-out campers and head for home (4-5 pm is evening extended care hours)

Tuesday and Thursday mornings are usually swim times and Wednesdays are off-site trip days … schedule may vary depending upon activities planned for the day.
