This Toronto Parks and Recreation resource manual is written for parents, teachers and group leaders.  It outlines six of Toronto’s Discovery Walk trails with photographs, diagrams and detailed maps.

This straightforward yet creative manual provides background information on the local ecology, First Nation’s and early settlement history and present communities for each Discovery Walk.  There’s an activity section featured with over 40 activities that groups can participate in while “Exploring Toronto”.

The manual’s Appendix includes a teachers’ curriculum guide for linking Exploring Toronto themes and activities to Ontario’s school curriculum, a set of six activity sheets and a list of useful resources and organizations.  A box of cue-cards featuring concise historical information, ecological terms and activities are included for use on a walk.
