We love our volunteers! Our program wouldn’t be the same without the many friendly, enthusiastic and caring people who help us out on a regular basis. Volunteering with the Children’s Eco Programs can be a fun, fascinating, motivating, messy and educational experience!

The volunteer activities at the garden and on the trail often require some physical labour, much patience and a lot of enthusiasm. When volunteering with our programs it’s our goal to make sure you have a positive experience. In exchange for your energy and support we will offer you the opportunity to learn new skills, meet new people and get a little exercise
We encourage long-term volunteering with our programs. We are happy to help beginners improve their skills with us to become one of our skilled/core volunteers. Any volunteer hours completed at one of our Children’s Gardens or on the trail with our Exploring Toronto Program can be counted towards high school community service hours.
We currently have a number of opportunities available for both skilled and unskilled volunteers. We also have positions for interns where you can complete credits from local universities and colleges.
Most of the skilled opportunities (and any positions where you’ll have direct contact with children) will require applicants to fill out a Volunteer Application Form and participate in a brief interview. For our unskilled opportunities, like event volunteers, we just need you to let us know of your interest and what shift you will be able for.
